The  Miniature Potbelly Pig Registry and the Mini Pig Registry is a Registry service that was set up to encouraging responsible breeding of true miniature  pigs and miniature potbelly pigs. This registry was also set up to help set forth guidelines and accountability to pig sizes and genetics.
The general stance of the registry on size is simply this:  There are many names going around on the internet for the mini pig.   some of these terms include teacup, toy, micro, pocket, nano, mini, royal dandy, pixie and more. The terms used are generally decided on by the breeder as to what he or she prefers or believes would best describe their pigs. These terms are NOT breeds of pigs just simply terms referencing the size of their pigs.  To learn more about the history and breeds of mini pigs click here.
The registry has 3 categories: Classic Miniature,  True Miniature and Tiny.  We have chosen to not use the term teacup as this can be misleading.  However we allow  breeders to call their pigs whatever they want as long as they are clear in what their terms mean to the visitor.
